Douglas FirThis ancient specimen, spared by conservationism, lives its remaining days in Western Canada, on Vancouver Island in the province of British Columbia. The evergreen conifer is native to the western reaches of North America and is scientifically not a fir tree at all. Older specimens have the capacity to outreach a forty story building.
