Silver Bachelor Button - Gorgeous Victorian West's PatentThis is a lovely West's Patent bachelor button from the Victorian era. It is likely to be silver fronted and has gorgeous etching to the front. To the rear is the sun motif for West's and a good spring loaded removable stud piece. It springs open into two pieces and is in lovely working order measuring 1 inch across. Although these buttons were made by various firms the greatest and most prolific manufacturer was George West. The design was excellent

very Georgian design top of a circular studded design of turquoise/turquoise glass on the metal which is likely to be pinchbeck

To the other side is a pretty pull button again with lovely brass decorations

The hinge is good and he is in very nice antique condition and a very charming piece and of course a useful little box in its own right

possibly white agate or similar with a couple of nibbles and plenty of space for engraving
