Description

Kama‘ehuakanaloaOctober 2025 London blue topaz, Ethiopian fire opal, diamonds, black diamonds, 14 karat gold DESIGNER OF THE YEAR Hawaii Jewelers Association 2025 Design Competition FIRST PLACE WINNER Hawaii Jewelers Association 2025 Design Competition Hawaiian Themed Jewelry category Kama'ehuakanaloa, formerly known as Lihi, is a deep ocean volcano on the southeastern flank of Mauna Loa. Here, the molten caldera is represented by a vibrant Ethiopian fire opal

the only pictures I have are of the ner tamid hanging against the backdrop of my back yard (which is shamefully overgrown as I completely gave up yard maintenance while I was working to complete the sculpture)

May his memory be for a blessing

but through the process I wound up designing something completely different

The centerpiece of the ring is a beautiful

The grooves and ridges carved in the black soapstone connect around the entire piece

I initially set out to make a purely functional tool

saw images of some of the Stars of David that I'd made out of Hebrew names

These 8mm-diameter hollow silver globes studs are simple to be sure

In keeping with the Greek text of John 3:16

And for as long as the volume has been in my consciousness

I realize that there are blinged-out pavé rings that are way more extravagant than this

so embedded in my subconscious is the image and its lines
