Antique Solar Enlargement of an Altar BoyI dont usually spring for solar enlargements as theyre quite common, but Ive never seen one depicting an altar boy before. Its beautifully colored in chalk and in its original gilded frame with domed glass. Some wear to the frame on one side as shown, otherwise condition is good.

Would be suitable to wear with just a little TLC

Currently pinned to fit my antique dress form

but if you walked into a ballroom in the 1860s

it retains its original stopper

no one dug these up- It was common practice for ornaments and name plates to be removed before the casket went into the ground

Slight splitting in the middle of the skull cap but mount is stable and displays beautifully

I believe this was a marriage but the pieces fit perfectly together

If you remove the clear glass bud vase

but sadly that story is long since lost

the quality of the mold is so fine
